Rarely have I ever been stuck in the middle of two paths, waiting for some kind of sign, answer, or easy way out. Nor have I ever been stuck and confused about what differentiates right from wrong. I’ve always been set on making the right decisions in my life. But lately, I’ve let curiosity and selfishness take over my will to be a strong and respectful person. People always say “you can have your cake and eat it too…” but in this case, it didn’t work out that way.

Love and friendship go hand in hand in most cases, but for me, at least this time, I had too much on my plate. I’ve crossed paths with such great people in the past few months, and I already can’t stop wondering where they’ve been all my life. Of course I want to experience great friendships and everlasting relationships, but I can’t have everything I want - nor can I please everyone. It wouldn’t be fair to certain people in my life that I care for so much. Needless to say, I wouldn’t want to lose ties with the amazing personalities I’ve been blessed to spend time with.

In a span of three months, I’ve unplugged myself from who I really am and how I live my life according to my beliefs. In doing so, I was too focused on making myself happy, and was unaware I was indirectly hurting the ones who loved me the most. I’ve torn myself away from the life I was so familiar with. Thanks to a very estranged encounter over the weekend, I’ve chosen to pick myself up, glue myself back up together, and focus on doing what’s right for me and doing the best I can to gain the love and support from  the ones in my life that have always been there for me.
